How
To Help
Both Philly FNB chapters are extremely grateful to any who help us. Here
are some things we always need-
YOU!- We are member run
and are always in need of people for cooking, cleaning, food transportation,
and serving. You don’t have to have any cooking skills at all to
help. People with cars are a big help with picking up or transporting
donated food. If you're interested in volunteering with us in any way
just come to one of our regular servings (North Philly
FNB, West Philly FNB) and introduce yourself,
or contact us via email for more information.
We've also begun tabeling at R5 shows at the First Unitarian Church. If
you can make tasty vegan baked goods and want to see some awesome music
let us know!
Food- Vegetarian food donations
are the most important things we receive. Non-perishable food items; canned
vegetables, pasta, cooking oil, soup, beans, spices, etc.
can be donated at any time. Perishable food items; fruit, vegetables,
bread, etc. are also appreciated. We prefer vegan (meat and dairy free)
food, but will accept any foodstuffs you’re willing to give. Contact
us to arrange for a pickup.
Cooking/Serving Materials-
Pots, spoons, buckets, coolers, dishes, cutting boards, etc. are always
wanted. We are constantly in dire need of paper/plastic cups, dishes,
and plastic utensils. If you have something that you think might be useful,
contact us to arrange for a pickup.
Misc.- We often get requests
for blankets, warm clothes, cloth bags. SEPTA tokens are always in need.
Toiletries like soap, toothpaste, combs, etc. are always useful.
Money/Diesel Vehicle- Food
Not Bombs is an entirely volunteer run group. Our operation costs are
small but do exist. No profit whatsoever is made by Food Not Bombs members
and any monetary donation is extremely helpful and will be well used.
We are also in the process of trying to obtain a diesel vehicle that'll
be converted into a bio-diesel vehicle. If you have a diesel truck or
van or know where we can get one real cheap, let us know!!!!
